6月11日 TRIP FROM HAMLAGRØ - BOTNENA one-day trip from
Hamlagrø to Botnen.
This Saturday (10th June 06) we decided on going to Hamlagrø. It's about 1,5 to 2 hours drive from Bergen. Part of the road is steep and narrow. Takes us up a very wild gorge. Zuzana always mention how uncomfortable she is driving this road.
But once up high, the valley turnes out to be nice.
It's a lot of lakes, The big one is Hamlagrøvatnet.
About 13 km long.
We parked the car at the south-end of the lake.
Then walked alongside the lake shores, in zig zag.
Took us almost 2.5 hours, lots more then we thought.
Foloing some farmers driving their sheep off to summer grazing.
Then up it went. After still a kot of walking we came to a nice small lake. Had to wade a rough river..filled with melting snow..water. It was chilling!!
Temp probably 4 -5 degrees centergrade.
It felt good though afterwards...when the heat came back to those parts of the body.
The airtemp. was excellent, around 25 deg. centergrade!
Met three people tenting and fishing.
Lots of mountaintrout they said. But it was not biting to well in the strong sunlight..and cold temp. Also the water is so clear that the fish sees you easly.
We then passed another lake. Along this lake the mountains are pretty steep and can be dangerous. Stones falling quite often, and from great hight. Some places the mountainside tend to cave in. Also there are big boulders laying on the egde, left there by the meling ice, ater the last iceage. Actually its enormous boulders.
Our plan was to reach Botnen..a small place by the Hardangerfjord.
No road there, only a boat serving the few people living there, once or twice a week.
We looked down at some of the houses. Actually a place where you can stay over. Farmholidays.
We were very tired after walking the difficult path for about 5 hours. We just laid out our cloth and had our lunch there.
Looking uo 400 feet or so, a big boulser, looking like an eagle ready to fly, sitting there, with a hugh part og it over the edge.
We wvere joking about it, that if it fell, it woulds probably hit right where we were siting..that being the straight route down.
Next time we will walk one way, then stay at Botnen overnight and take a different route back.
Takinf us then to the north part of Hamlagrøvatnet.
A route people used from the 1850 when they went to the summerfarms in the high mountains, and also trading in the Bergsdalen and Voss region.
After lots of short rests we got back to the car at 22.30, sun still shining on the mountains.
What a day!
We'll certainly be back.
One thing though, we passed the mountain where Zuzana broke her ancle about two years ago skiing..at Easter.
She seemed to have forgotten, at least she didn't mention it. Maybe because she enjoyed the trip so much?
Arriving in Bergen still light...a hugh orange moom touching the the top of mount Løvstakken, blue haze over the lowlands..what a welcome home!
And in the middle of Bergen a beautiful big deer grazing on a small field by the woods.
Still I can see all the different flowers, smell the good smell of earth... 引用通告此日志的引用通告 URL 是: http://svein-magnussen.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!DF0ED1B7009921DA!513.trak 引用此项的网络日志
